News - Jan. 28th: Quite a News Update - Also, GetPlayed.com Store Info

This site should be viewed in no less than 1024x768 resolution.

Welcome, and thank you for visiting our online music community at GetPlayed.com. The purpose of our site is to provide a new dynamic, feedback-driven method for amateur musicians to get original songs of their choice promoted and reviewed by music fans everywhere, and best of all, submitting a song is free!

When you submit a song to GetPlayed.com, it will be entered into the music category of your choice and begin to accumulate points, which are awarded by visitors based on their opinion of your song. They can award you no points, and simply leave a comment, or they can award you 5, and let the rating speak for itself. As soon as 5 songs have been submitted in a given category, they are moved to the top of the page and become the Currently Competing songs, and any previous points accumulated are set to 0 (though comments remain). Now the point accumulation begins again, but with all competing songs starting at the same time.

To start, the point limit for the active Songs in each category will be set to 100. This is an estimate based on projected site traffic, and other factors, but it dosent mean this couldnt change. Any contests with a point limit greater or less than 100 will have an announcement saying so on the contest page. Once a song has reached the point limit, the remaining songs in the competing section will be cleared from the page, and all participants will be e-mailed with an announcement of the contest ending. The winning song (the song that broke the point limit first), will then be placed at the top of the page for the duration of the next contest, guaranteeing hundreds of views from visitors before it assumes a place in the categories archives. A spot in the archives is a semi-permanant position on our site. Each categories archives will contain the last 10 winners from that category, which allows an extended opportunity to have your song listened to and reviewed.

The goal in all of this? To provide musicians who might not necessarily have the resources or the connections to amass a fan base on their own, a way to get their music heard by music fans around the world without ever leaving their room. All you need to have your song succeed is talent.

Before submitting a song, be sure to read the Submission Agreement
