GetPlayed.com is a new online music community dedicated to providing amateur musicians with the thing they need most (aside from gear), a listening audience. Visitors submit their songs into the category of their choice where they receive ratings and comments from visitors, as well as an individual Play Counter.
A main focus of our site is to keep this a friendly, well maintained community, where site reps are available for questions at basically any time of the day (unless we mysteriously get a life), so feel free to contact adminitration via AOL Instant Message. Our screen names are:

Questions and Contest Rules
Q: When I submit a song, how long will it take for the song to be featured?
When a song is submittied either via E-Mail, or using the submission form on the website, it must be reviewed by an administrator before being posted on the site. Dont worry, one of us is always online, and if you dont see your song posted within 24 hours, feel free to contact us verifying the submission. The address to mail is admin@getplayed.com.
Q: How many songs can I submit simultanously?
In each category, any artist can have 2 'Currently Competing' songs and two 'Waiting' songs at one time. Songs will be updated 2 at a time. Example: You cannot have four 'waiting' songs, just two of each.
Any artist may have songs in multiple categories simultanously. For information on adding additional songs, see Adding Permanant Songs.
Q: What determines when a song is moved to the 'Current Competition', rather than 'Waiting to Compete?'
When a song is submitted to a given category, it appears first in the 'Waiting to Compete' section of the page. If there is no competition in progress, the songs will be moved to the competition spot as soon as 5 songs have been submitted to the category. After this, the 'Waiting' songs will be moved to the current competition at the end of each competition.
Q: How long does a competition last?
When a competition begins, each songs point total (or Rating) is reset to 0. Each person who listens to your song will have the option of awarding it anywhere from 0-5 points. As soon as a band reaches the point limit (posted at the top of each category), the current competition ends, and the competing songs are cleared from the category. Each participant in the contest will receive an E-Mail informing them that the contest has ended.
Q: What do I get for having a winning song in a contest?
The winning song will receive a spot at the top of the page for the duration of the next contest, after which is receives a spot in the Category Archives. The song remains in the archives (still accumulating points, comments, and views) for the duration of the next 10 competitions in that category. Category winners will also have the option of purchasing a link in the 'GetPlayed.com Sponsored Artists' section at a discounted rate of $5/month in 3 month blocks. (Standard price is $12 per month in 3 month blocks)
Q: What is the 'Featured Artist' section?
The Featured Artists page is a page with a section for Category Finals winners, and also a section for Sponsored Artists. Spots in the sponsored artist section are purchased in 3 month blocks for $12 per month, or at a discounted rate of $4 per month if your song has won a category contest. Contact the administration for more information or purchasing questions at admin@getplayed.com.
Q: How do I submit a Permanant Song, and what does it do for me?
The permanant songs are a way for you to guarantee that your music will remain hosted on GetPlayed.com. It also allows you to add additional songs, even if you have already added two to the contests. When you submit a permanant song, you pay a one-time fee of $20, payable through PayPal, and your song will go directly into the category archives, as if it had just won the contest, but without the danger of being eliminated. Your song exposure will be top-notch, as you'll be featured with all the winning songs from your category, and your song will still accumulate points and ratings just as if it were submitted normally. To submit a permanant song, use the regular submit form, and check the box at the bottom that indicates it to be a Permanant Submission.
Submission Agreement
By submitting a song to GetPlayed.com you agree to the following submission terms.
The music you submit will be an original composition, composed of material you have personally recorded, or using samples that are licensed for distribution for the purpose of being used in a song.
You, the artist, will retain all copyrights to the material you submit. GetPlayed.com will never resell or make profit off of your recording without specific written permission from you.
You agree that the music you submit will be available free of charge to visitors at GetPlayed.com, and that the purpose of submitting a song is to get your music heard and reviewed.
You may request that any piece of music you submit be taken down from the website, and we will remove it. The only exception to this is if is competing in a current competition, in which case removing the file would disturb the contest script. In this case, the song will be taken down as soon as the competition ends (usually less than 1 week).
